Gala Style

The last few years we've lived in Houston, I have so enjoyed volunteering with the Houston Symphony particularly at their annual gala.  I always mention that whether you're new to town or just want to put down roots, volunteering is an easy and meaningful way to get involved in your community. The Corinthian is a dream venue and everything looked fabulous.  I am able to find design inspiration everywhere and this was no exception.
The use of monochromatic floral arrangements was very elegant and I'll have to remember that when party planning.
I loved the mix of silver and gold throughout.  I know this is something we shy away from at home, but the look is very glamorous. You might use a silver tablecloth with gold chargers and a white floral centerpiece for a dramatic look.

Nothing beats the soft glow of candles.  Having something sparkly for them to reflect off of doesn't hurt either.  I always use unscented candles in the dining area.

I loved the crystal candelabras paired with the weathered, family-style table.  The mix of textures was modern yet warm.Hope you found some inspiration in this beautiful event. Cheers!
