A group of girls from my Junior League placement formed a Bunco group and I hosted back in February. I wanted to share some photos and recipes with you.

This was actually my first time to make oreo balls (I still have not made cake balls gasp!) I smashed an entire bag of oreos and blended in a room temperature 8oz package of cream cheese. Next time I'll use the food processor because it was quite the workout. There is something really unappetizing about rolling food around in my hands, so I opted to use a melon baller/cookie dough scoop instead. Before popping the oreo balls in the freezer to firm up, I inserted a toothpick in each one to make dipping in chocolate later easier.

I don't have a fancy double boiler, just good old Pyrex over a saucepan of simmering water. After dipping the oreo balls in chocolate I forgot to take a picture (story of my life!) of the finished product. Trust me though, they turned out cute and tasted great!

I filled Valentine's themed mugs with candy for prizes for the most buncos, last bunco, most wins etc.

I was excited to try out the Tacos in a Bag idea from
Monograms and Manicures. I am happy to report it was easy and fun. I served beef and turkey, both cooked according to the taco seasoning packet instructions. I set up stations with toppings, and got creative with a chalkboard displaying "instructions". I will say it took me hours and hours to find the $.99 size bags, so don't procrastinate if you try out Tacos in a Bag. I typically choose more complicated recipes when entertaining, but I was so happy to have such a festive and easy meal to prepare after work. I provided the main dish and guests brought appetizers, wine and desserts.

This was actually a smokin' hot bunco night for me!! Jackpot! We all had so much fun it should have been illegal. When a late party guest arrived during a heated round, I literally thought the police were at my door for a noise violation!! Who knew bunco could be so fun!! If you have any suggestions from your own bunco group, do tell! We are always looking for new things to try.
